Plain-capped Starthroat

Plain-capped Starthroat
Rio Cuchujaqui near Alamos , Sonora, MX
May 14, 2002

After several years of low concentrations, the Plain-capped Starthroats had gathered in large numbers along the banks of the Rio Cuchujaqui to feed on the swarms of insects over the various pools of water. Often three or four starthroats would perch on the same small branch! Some of this behavior is shown in the video.
